Services we provide

Peer Mentoring

Peer mentoring is a relationship between people in which one person has more experience than the other. A mentor holds a unique place in supporting others to achieve success toward a particular goal.

The Community Chaplain Response Team has a team of Kansas Certified Peer Mentors who help people who have been incarcerated with reintegration and recovery.

Our Kansas Certified Peer mentors can increase the rate of success by helping individuals overcome obstacles such as obtaining identification, treatment placement, finding sober living environments, setting and achieving life goals, and more.

Disaster Relief Truck

Disaster Relief

From the beginning, the Community Chaplain Response Team has supported local first responders with on scene support, victim services, and volunteer resources.

C.C.R.T.’s support services volunteers respond to  emergencies such as accidents, structure fires, wildfires, and other disasters that will require extended emergency and disaster responses.

Disaster relief volunteers provide food and drink, emotional and spiritual support, victim resourcing and networking, and other services as requested by local emergency personnel.

C.C.R.T. volunteers have passed FEMA’s National Incident Management System basic training, and pate in on-going quarterly trainings.

Prevention Awareness

Our team supports prevention strategies that create healthier and safer communities.

This includes community awareness of suicide prevention. In September C.C.R.T. participates in the “Yellow Ribbon Campaign”, promoting suicide prevention and awareness.

“Yellow Ribbon Week” activities include awareness through media, distribution of educational materials, community forums, and a suicide prevention softball tournament.

it’s okay to reach out and ask for help. If you are struggling and need to talk to someone, please call the national suicide prevention hotline at 1-800-273-8255., the Prairie View crisis line at 1-800-362-0180, or 911.
